There were 5 different hp ratings for the 2.1L ranging from 95 bhp all the way up to a whopping 112bhp. This Volkswagen Vanagon also features a 3-speed automatic transmission. It has recently been treated to new... Bilstein shocks at all 4 corners; and, as a tasteful upgrade over the standard steel wheels, a set of Mercedes-Benz "E-class style" aluminum wheels with new Sumitomo radial tires were added. This Vanagon runs and drives well, and the A/C blows cold enough to help make this a great ride-share vehicle for up to 7 people. The cloth seats are plenty comfortable, and have good life left in them, with the cloth showing few signs of wear after 27 years! The van was originally owned by a disabled person and they used it to take him to doctor's appointments. There are no wheelchair marks on the van from loading and unloading the wheelchair. The second owner was the teacher who was a member of the Volkswagen Club. He took the van to many a car show. He had the engine redone and truly loved this van; his wife wanted a smaller car so he sold his van to me. He cried when giving me the keys. I have maintained it but only drove it occasionally. It's been garaged and covered always. It's never been out of California. It's never been camping. It's never been used for business, just normal driving. A truly rare find. Original Westfalia 1990 camper (115880 miles) with all of the factory equipment, automatic transmission, air conditioner, everything else is in good working order including the A/C, stove, sink, refrigerator, two cabin heaters, cigarette lighter, interior LED lights, gauges, dashboard clock, odometer, speedometer, and includes all of the following: Owner's and Service Manuals, screens, curtains, hoses, all new oil seals and gaskets underneath, new coolant, oil, filter, parking lights, new distributor cap, ignition coil, rotor, windshield wipers, satellite radio, recent transmission service, radiator service, radiator fan, belts, front brakes, head gaskets, gaskets and seals underneath, water hoses, CV boots, CV joints, fuel filter, A/C new compressor, recharged with RedTek R-12A freon (better then R134), new wheel bearings and shock absorbers. The paint is original. The interior is in very good condition without noticeable wear or tear. The top is in great condition. The carpet looks nice. The cabinets are very nice, the door panels are perfect. The two beds are hardly used in perfect condition. Service records and receipts since available. You will not be disappointed. Clean KY title in my name I don't have a LOT of shots of the inside BUT the inside is near perfect. There's a small tear in the rear seat (that's more in the seam) - see that picture. Has jump seats, dash is PERFECT, has the original VW rubber floor mat throughout. Back seat still folds down into a bed. Before you ask read the ad! The engine and transmission are still not installed - Van will have to be towed. April 2015 $3,375.00 < 45k mile ecotec engine with the complete kit to install including trans adapter, drive by wire pedal and computer. BG Ultra Guard gear oil - $16.95/qt and you will need 4 Jan 2016 $320 < all new t3 technique poly bushings to completely redo the rear end 2013 ~ $700 Nokian 205/65/16 WR C Van tires - bought FIVE in 2013 and mounted them on a set of passat steel wheels that I had clearanced to fit the vanagon - running 6mm/3mm spacers also from t3. That's four on the van and a full size spare in case you missed it. That's $9445 in parts that are all sitting in a climate and humidity controlled garage. German TA sent me pictures during the build, I have those and receipts for all this stuff. For a 90 Vanagon in KY it's very rust free, a little bit started to form in the seams on the side but extremely minor almost not noticeable. Interior is a 8 out of 10 - the outside was a respray of white, the van is originally white. I hit the passenger side back corner into a pole and dented that - not terrible. All wiring works, all lights work, it's a great van. I "think" I still have the car fax before I bought it - the van was in Texas and California for part of it's life before coming back to KY. Brakes, Radiator, rear heater core were all replaced in 2014 - one year before it came off the road. WILL NOT SEPARATE - this is an all or nothing deal - if you don't want it all don't ask. I can't stress this enough if you have questions reach out via CL email. I've kept the tags and insurance up on the van thought it's sitting in the garage. Currently the motor and transaxle are still out so you'd have to tow it.
